Problem + Solution

polluted coastlines

local empowerment

Surfers Against Sewage is a charity that focuses on creating community projects and campaigns to better protect our beaches and oceans. They do this through education, volunteering, beach cleans, parliamentary events and advocacy to create change. They started out solely as surfers who loved the ocean addressing sewage spills and pollution, now they work with multiple community groups in a variety of realms like policy, education, and clean-ups, all still with the hope to protect our oceans.

Our Honest Opinion

Surfers Against Sewage provide an incredible amount of opportunities to get involved in the climate movement. We love that they allow people to take the lead on campaigns and fit them into their community while also simultaneously providing a wealth of volunteer opportunities. They also post links to annual reports at the end of each year to promote transparency in their work.
