The African Climate Alliance (ACA) is a youth-led, grassroots group fighting for environmental, ecological and social justice in Cape Town and beyond. ACA is dedicated to holding systems of oppression accountable and call for systemic change while uplifting Afrocentric climate solutions and empowering people to act. They organised the first big climate protest in Cape Town in 2019 and work across climate education, intersectionality, and campaigning. They have allies in 8 African countries outside of South Africa.
Young and older people alike that believe in the importance of Global South leadership, intersectionality and social justice in fighting for a better planet
The ACA creates a space for young South Africans to be heard in the climate movement. By engaging in direct action, education, intercultural collabs, and intersectional content creation, they are challenging the status quo and offering a strong African, working-class, black and brown voice in the climate movement — something that's needed more than ever
